Whether it’s to the banks of the Tisa or the foothills of the Tatras, whether Romanian, Serbian, jazz à la Reinhardt/Grappelli, Rom (Gypsy) or original compositions, you’ll hear music with an authenticity and pungency that only the Garlic Band can deliver.
The Garlic Band core, consisting of Miamon Miller (violin), Cory Beers (cimbalom) and Simeon Pillich (bass), was formed in 2011. Since then, our trio has been fortunate to work with many excellent musicians including accordionists Joshua Kaufman, Michael Lawson, Nick Ariondo, Dart Zubis and multi-instrumentalist Bill Cope. We've played concerts throughout Southern California including the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, the Annex Theater in San Pedro, the Coffee Gallery in Altadena and as the above photo attests, at the lovely Heisler Park Amphitheater in Laguna Beach. We're regularly asked to play for folk dance events ranging from Café Aman to the Laguna Folk Dance Festival and of course we've graced many a private party. We're the Garlic Band, we're unique, we're musical and we're unabashedly good humored.
